Cutback

Produced by blending bitumen with solvents, cutback bitumen offers a range of curing times, making it suitable for various weather conditions and application methods. It is commonly used in road maintenance and surface treatments.

  • Rapid-Curing Cutback Bitumen: Suitable for urgent road repairs, pothole patching, and pavement maintenance, offering quick curing times and rapid traffic reopening.
  • Medium-Curing Cutback Bitumen: Ideal for surface treatments, tack coats, and priming applications, providing moderate curing times and versatile performance.
  • Slow-Curing Cutback Bitumen: Used in surface dressing, seal coats, and prime coats, offering extended curing times and enhanced adhesion properties.

Application

  • Road Construction: Cutback bitumen is commonly used as a binder in road construction projects, especially in areas where hot mix asphalt plants are not readily available or during colder weather conditions.
  • Surface Treatment: It is applied as a surface treatment for dust control on unpaved roads and parking lots, providing stabilization and reducing dust emissions.
  • Prime Coating: Cutback bitumen serves as a prime coat or tack coat to promote adhesion between asphalt layers during pavement construction and repair.
  • Crack Sealing: It is used for crack sealing and repairing potholes in asphalt pavements to prevent water infiltration and further deterioration.
  • Roofing: Cutback bitumen is applied in roofing applications as an adhesive for bonding roofing felts or membranes to various substrates.
  • Waterproofing: It is utilized in waterproofing applications such as sealing joints and seams in concrete structures, providing protection against water ingress.
